EULA Generator Release Notes

As privacy laws evolve, Termly updates its EULA Generator to ensure compliance with new and changing regulations. Our goal is to maintain transparency about these updates and new offerings.

Please note, policy changes become effective only after you republish your policy via the Termly dashboard.

January 9, 2023

  • Updated Section: Governing Law

    • Purpose: Legal

    • Summary: Customers can select the United Kingdom country or overseas territory whose law they want to govern over the End User License Agreement (EULA).

    • Impact: The ‘Applicable Law’ section of the EULA will specify the governing law for the selected United Kingdom country or overseas territory.

June 28, 2022

  • Updated Section: Privacy Policy

    • Purpose: General Improvement

    • Summary: Customers have additional options to detail how users can access the company’s privacy policy.

    • Impact: The ‘Use of Data’ section in the EULA will be updated with instructions on how users can access the privacy policy.

May 5, 2022

  • Updated Section: English Preference

    • Purpose: General Improvement

    • Summary: Customers now have the choice to use American English or British English spelling in their EULA.

    • Impact: The choice of spelling will affect the entire EULA, including minor punctuation differences.

March 1, 2022

  • New Section: App Store

    • Purpose: General Improvement

    • Summary: Customers can select whether their application is published in the Apple App Store, Google Play Store, or both.

    • Impact: The EULA will reference the appropriate app store(s) and app type(s), according to the customer’s selection.

December 16, 2021

  • New Section: Company VAT Number

    • Purpose: Legal

    • Summary: Customers with users in the EU or UK can now include their company VAT number to comply with EEA/UK regulations.

    • Impact: The introduction of the EULA will now feature the company's VAT number.

  • Updated Section: Business Address

    • Purpose: General Improvement

    • Summary: UK-based businesses can specify England, Northern Ireland, Scotland, or Wales as part of their business address.

    • Impact: The business address at the end of the EULA will reflect the chosen country within the UK.

  • Updated Section: Business Address

    • Purpose: Legal

    • Summary: UK-based businesses can now include their registered address to comply with EEA and UK regulations.

    • Impact: The registered address will be incorporated into the introduction of the EULA.
