Q: Why is my Termly website scan not working if my site is hosted on Salesforce?
A: Termly’s scanner uses modern IPv6 protocol by default. Many websites hosted on Salesforce (including Salesforce Experience Cloud) currently do not support inbound IPv6 crawler traffic. When this happens, our scanner’s requests are blocked or dropped before reaching your site.
Because the scan cannot complete, Termly is unable to automatically detect cookies, trackers, or generate/update your compliance policies for sites hosted on Salesforce.
Q: Can this be fixed on Termly’s side?
A: Unfortunately no. This behavior is due to how Salesforce’s hosting/CDN stack handles IPv6 crawler requests. Termly cannot bypass or override Salesforce’s restrictions.
Q: Are there plans for Salesforce to support IPv6 in the future?
A: At this time, there is no public commitment or roadmap, but because many organizations rely on Salesforce, we expect they will eventually address this limitation.
