Overview
Termly's Bulk Import feature lets you update business information for multiple websites at once by uploading a CSV file. This is especially useful if you manage many sites and need to make changes efficiently without editing each one individually.
Before You Begin
- You must have access to the Websites section of your Termly dashboard.
- Your import file must be in CSV format (.csv). Other file types will be rejected.
- We recommend downloading the template first (see Step 1) to ensure your file is formatted correctly.
Steps
Step 1: Open the Bulk Import Modal
1. Log in to your Termly dashboard.
2. Navigate to the Websites page.
3. Click the Update Business Info button.
4. The Bulk Import Business Information dialog will appear.
Step 2: Download the CSV Template
In the dialog, click the Download Template link. This downloads a pre-filled CSV file containing your current business information for all your websites. Using this template ensures the file is correctly structured for import.
Step 3: Edit the CSV File
Update the business information in the template as needed, such as company name, address, contact details, and any other fields included. Save the file in CSV format when you're done.
Step 4: Upload Your CSV File
Return to the Bulk Import Business Information dialog and upload your edited CSV file using one of these methods:
- Click to browse: Click Choose a File and select your CSV file from your computer.
- Drag and drop: Drag your CSV file from your desktop and drop it onto the upload area. The area will highlight to indicate it's ready to receive the file.
Once a file is selected, its name will appear in the dialog. To remove it and choose a different file, click the × next to the file name.
Note: Only CSV files are accepted. If you drop a file in another format, it will be rejected and an error message will appear.
Step 5: Submit the Import
Click Upload to submit your file. Termly will begin processing your business information import.
You'll see a notification at the top of the screen:
"Importing business information for X websites..."
The dialog will close automatically. Your updates will be applied in the background, no further action is needed.
Troubleshooting
The import failed with a technical error
If the import fails, you'll see the message:
"Bulk Import failed due to a technical error."
Click OK to dismiss the dialog. Check that your CSV file is properly formatted using the downloaded template and try again. If the issue persists, please contact Termly support.
My file was rejected when I dropped it
Only CSV files (.csv) are accepted. Make sure your file is saved in CSV format before uploading.
The Download Template link isn't working
If the template download doesn't start, try refreshing the page and opening the dialog again. If the issue continues, please contact Termly support.
