Updated over a year ago

Termly provides three ways to embed a policy on your WordPress website.

Your options include:

  • HTML format: Pasting static HTML directly to your website

  • URL: Linking to a Termly-hosted URL (available for Pro+ users)

  • Code snippet: Embedding the policy on your page using a code snippet (available for Pro+ users)

HTML format

To add your policy text using HTML, start in your WordPress dashboard. Navigate to the page you’d like the text of the policy to appear, or create a new page for your policy. Next, click + and scroll down or search for the Custom HTML widget.

Add the HTML widget, then go to your Termly Dashboard and select your policy. Click Add to Website, select HTML Format, and click Copy To Clipboard. Return to your WordPress page and paste your HTML into the HTML widget. Save and publish the page.

You can now add the policy page to your menu, link to it in your footer, or link to it elsewhere on your website where your customers can easily access it.

URL

To add your policy using a URL, go to your Termly dashboard and select the policy you would like to embed. Click Add to Website, select URL, click Copy to Clipboard, and then paste the URL onto the page, button, or widget on your WordPress site where you would like the link to appear.

This is a Termly-hosted URL. This ensures you get automatic updates whenever changes are made to your policies to keep you compliant.

Code snippet

To add your policy as a code snippet, start in your WordPress dashboard. Navigate to the page you’d like your policy to appear or create a new page for your policy. Next, click + and scroll down or search for the Custom HTML widget.

Add the HTML widget, then go to your Termly Dashboard and select your policy. Click Add to Website, select HTML Format, and click Copy To Clipboard. Return to your WordPress page and paste your code snippet into the HTML widget. Save and publish the page.

You can now add the policy page to your menu, link to it in your footer, or link to it elsewhere on your website where your customers can easily access it. The code snippet will appear as an iframe on your page.

This method also ensures you get automatic updates whenever changes are made to your policies to keep you compliant.
