Termly’s Copy Settings feature allows you to apply compliance configurations, such as banner settings including custom themes, and policy documents from one website to many others in bulk. This helps ensure consistency across your sites and streamlines setup for agencies and multi-site managers.
Follow these steps:
- Go to the Websites tab in your Termly dashboard.
-
Select the websites you want to update by clicking the checkboxes next to them.
You can manually select sites or use filters and multi-page selection to choose hundreds at once.
-
A toolbar will appear at the bottom. Click Copy Settings.
- In the Copy Settings modal:
- Source: Choose the website you want to copy settings from.
-
Compliance Settings to Copy:
- Banner/Consent Settings – Includes banner layout, behavior, and consent logic.
-
Policies – Select individual documents to copy:
1. Privacy Policy
2. Terms and Conditions
3. Disclaimer (optional)
Option to remove all other documents from the target websites before applying.
5. Click Apply to complete the copy action. You’ll first see a confirmation message that the work has been queued and then receive a confirmation email once the settings have been successfully applied. For more details, see Confirmation Process for Bulk Changes.
Overwrite Behavior
- Selected settings will replace existing configurations on the target websites.
- If you choose to remove all other documents, any non-selected policies will be deleted.
- This action cannot be undone, so double-check your selections before applying.
Best Practices
- Tag your template websites (e.g., “EU Template”, “Client Default”) to easily find and reuse them as sources.
- Use filters to group sites by region, client, or compliance status before applying bulk changes.
-
Start with a small batch to test your setup before applying to all sites.
